We appreciated his commentary as well as his courteousness and genuine niceness. He was well prepared for the smaller things of our trip. He gave a lot of insight into life on the island. He also had insider tips and tricks. He got us back in time for our cruise. The next time we come to St Lucia, we will definitely call him directly! We highly recommend him and his comfortable vehicle that can seat up to 13 passengers, even though there were only 4 of us.

Once another friend of mine put me in contact with Augustus, everything went well after that. He knew a lot about the history of the island, culture, the best viewpoints, and even told us about St. Lucia's history for big budget movies like Superman. When we got to the sulfur springs and even the sugar beach waterfall, he stayed with us, advising us and taking pictures on our behalf. He asked... read more all the right questions and provided the perfect experience. He communicates well and keeps in touch leading up to the arrival. The pick up was simple and quick right at the cruise port. He was holding a sign with our names on it. He had beverages ready for us which is a story of itself. My wife really likes a Carib Sorrel Shandy which Augustus tried to procure but was unsuccessful in St Lucia. He had a friend in Trinidad that was able to bring some to the island. He had several bottles chilled and ready for us. My wife loves all things plants and our first stop was Lushan Country Life. We were immersed in a forest of plants and our guide Evera shared her knowledge with us. Needless to say we loved the experience. Our last stop was to Marigot Bay for a private snorkeling trip with Lush Excursions with guides Shannon and Dorcus. So he nailed both of our wishes. That would be enough but he doesn’t just do enough he goes above and beyond. Upon our return to the Van we were presented with a basket containing Sorrell Shandy, a bottle of wine and two personalized metal cups to commemorate our experience that day. It wasn’t until we got back to the ship that we discovered the cups and my wife teared up over the sincere kind gesture. We now have a true friend in St Lucia! Thanks for the memories Augustus.   Private Tour with Jose fully recommended - We meet Jose our tour guide on the way back from the airport as he was our private transfer driver. The transfer to our hotel was 2.5 hours, however, Jose... read more used this to give us a tour of the island. It was a brilliant first introduction to the island on our way to the hotel.

During our conversations, Jose offered to do a private tour for us around the island at a very good rate. He also offered us discounted taxi rates for any trips out we may want to do.

Firstly we attended England V West Indies t20 match, Jose arranged a taxi for us which was cheaper than the hotel. Pick up and drop off were easy and seamless.

The following day, we booked a tour with Jose for myself, my wife and two of our friends. Jose picked us up at 8am, and we did not return into almost 5pm.

We cannot speak highly enough of our tour, excellent value for money!

Firstly we stopped at a beach off the beaten tourist route, which was amazing. This beach was pure untouched paradise, the sea met the mangroves which gave a unique experience where cold freshwater, meets warm Caribbean Sea water. Whilst on this beach Jose also cracked open some fresh almonds from the almond tree on the beach. It was a true paradise setting

Next we stopped at a bar that makes their own rum, and for $6 you could try as many rums as you wanted. There were over 30 in total! They also made the best homemade banana bread I’ve ever tasted. It was a good chance to buy nice local rums at cheap local prices. There was also a small gift shop, which was good for buying some souvenirs

Next we stopped at a little local Kassava shop where we tried cookies and bread made from Kassava. The bread was amazing and was still warm for a very very cheap price.

We moved on to a local independent chocolate conpany, who make and sell all their chocolate on site. This was a little expensive, but it was tasty and a really good experience.

We then moved onto the Sulfur Springs, Jose gave us the time to enjoy this environment, a number of the organised tours arrived after us and left before us, with many of those people not getting a chance to fully utilise the experience. which seems to be a regular theme with organised tours. I would highly recommend using a private tour to do the Sulfur springs rather than an organised tour, as you will get the time to fully enjoy this experience. Be warned though, all four pools are very very hot, so please be aware of that before going up there.

Next Jose took us to a waterfall which his hidden away from the main tourist areas. This cost €5 Eastern Caribbean Dollars, this was a truly breathtaking experience. The water was so fresh and perfect after the heat of the Sulfur Springs.

We went to a local restaurant for Lunch in Soufriere. This was a buffet, however, you only get one visit to the buffet. This wasn’t explained to us prior to eating, and therefore, we felt the $15 USD was expensive for what we got. The food was delicious just more clarity needed about that part of it.

Jose stopped multiple times on the way to the stops at viewpoints, he was always happy to take photos and stop wherever we wanted.

Finally, he let us stop at a supermarket close to our resort for supplies.

Overall, our experience was perfect. We paid $350 USD for 4 of us, and we well and truly feel we got value for money for this. Can’t speak highly enough of the whole day and experience. Jose made our honeymoon extra special
